A Brief History The Waldershare estate grounds were purchased by Sir Henry Furness in 1705. The red-brick mansion house had been built by 1712 set within the substantial surrounding formal grounds. The estate passed by marriage to Francis, first Earl of Guildford in the mid 18th Century and remained with this family until the 20th Century when the mansion was sold and divided into private apartments. The house was gutted by fire in 1913 and restored by Sir Reginald Blomfield. The building remains in divided private ownership to this day with the now 24 apartments held on Long Leases.
