A Bustling Start to 2022 for AM Surveying & Block Management


A bustling jump out the starting blocks for AM Surveying & Block Management to begin 2022, with new instructions to estates and blocks of flats up and down the South East including to one of London's tallest residential towers. Here we dive into just 3 highlights from recently instructed blocks integrated into the Block Management portfolio for AM.



24 Prestigious 3-Tower Block in Gillingham Marina, Kent


This prestigious blocks consists of 24 luxury apartments with prime river frontages located within Gillingham Marina and security controlled automated gate to the entrance. Built 2014, the block consists of communal managed-facilities including external grounds, internal communal areas with underground car park, life safety systems, one lift to each of the building's three towers and external cladding which has been the subject of multi-million £ remediation following the recent cladding safety crisis.


The Hamptons Gillingham

1930's Art Deco London Block of 125 Flats


This Putney-based block of Art-Deco flats first opened 1935 and now consists a building of 125 flats. The front facade to Upper Richmond Road is quite low key, with a one storey entrance lobby hiding a beautifully proportioned courtyard garden behind. The courtyard elevations are livened up with white rendered balconies and other features which stand proud of the main banded brick backdrop, with original period light fittings and signage located through the communal areas.


The building receives communal facilities including a shared heating system requiring careful management, passenger and goods lifts and on-site staff including Concierge and Building Manager working on behalf of building-management and residents.

Ormonde Court London

One of London's Tallest Residential Towers


A landmark instruction for AM Surveying & Block Management; appointed as Managing Agent to take over the Block Management requirements of Aragon Tower with its 160 apartments across 29 floors situated on the banks of the River Thames in north Deptford south-east London.


AM act on behalf of the tower's recently incorporated Right to Manage (RTM) Company, a company set up by leaseholders of the building to act as vehicle from which management functions of the building transfer from the building's Freeholder to it upon completion of a prescribed legal process. The RTM Company having recently learned it successfully acquires management of the tower as of early 2022, appoint AM Surveying & Block Management as its Managing Agent, taking over from the incumbent Agent.

Aragon Tower was originally completed in 1962 at a height of 26 floors. Previously built and owned by the London Borough of Lewisham, the riverside tower was sold to developers Berkeley Homes and redeveloped in 2006. With its redevelopment in mind, the building has served as positive catalyst for regeneration of the wider community that surrounds it and of which it forms part, the Pepys Estate and wider Deptford area.


14 Penthouse apartments were added to the top of Aragon Tower as part of its redevelopment taking the building up to 29 storeys and cementing its position as one of the tallest residential towers in London at 92 metres, with only a handful of residential towers boasting taller credentials.
